THE AGENCY SUBMITS REPORT TO THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY

In accordance with the Law on the Prevention of Corruption, the Agency submitted its Annual Work Report for 2024 and the Report on the Implementation of the Revised Action Plan for Chapter 23 – Subchapter: Fight against Corruption for 2024 to the National Assembly.

FIRST MEETING OF THE WORKING GROUP ON COOPERATION IN THE FIELD OF CORRUPTION PREVENTION HELD

Based on the Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Corruption Prevention, signed between the Ministry of Education, the Institute for the Improvement of Education, the Institute for the Evaluation of the Quality of Education, and the Agency, the first meeting of the working group was held today. The meeting was attended by representatives of all institutions that are signatories to the Agreement.

MEETING BETWEEN THE AGENCY DIRECTOR AND REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ANTI-CORRUPTION AGENCY OF THE REPUBLIC OF UZBEKISTAN

At the initiative of H.E. Aybek Shakhavidinov, Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Hungary and designated Ambassador to the Republic of Serbia, the Director of the Agency, Dejan Damnjanović, held an online meeting with Dr. Akmal Burkhanov, Director of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The meeting was attended by the Secretary of the Agency, associates from the Sector for International Cooperation, National Strategic Documents, Plans and Projects, as well as representatives of the Uzbek institution, including the Deputy Director and the Chief Inspector of the Sector for Complaints, Public Relations, and International Cooperation.

METHODOLOGY FOR ASSESSING THE RISK OF CORRUPTION IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF REGULATIONS

Within the project “Countering Economic Crime in Serbia”, funded by Sweden represented by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, and implemented by the Council of Europe, a training session was held on March 18, 2025, for employees of the Agency. This training was conducted as part of the activity “Improving the Risk Assessment of Corruption in Regulations” and included the presentation of the Methodology for Assessing the Risk of Corruption in the Implementation of Regulations, developed by Council of Europe experts Cristina Ciubotaru, Valts Kalniņš, and Silviu Popa. At the beginning of the meeting, Ms. Ana Selić, Program Manager at the Council of Europe, expressed her gratitude to the consultants for drafting the methodology, emphasizing that the primary goal of the meeting was to present the document, gather feedback, and explore possibilities for its implementation.

AGENCY DIRECTOR MEETS WITH AMBASSADOR OF UZBEKISTAN

Agency Director Dejan Damnjanović, along with associates from the Sector for International Cooperation, National Strategic Documents, Plans, and Projects, held an online meeting today with H.E. Aybek Shakhavidinov, Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Hungary and Ambassador-designate to Serbia. Director Damnjanović and Ambassador Shahavidinov agreed that international cooperation is crucial to fulfilling the mission of institutions dedicated to preventing and combating corruption. They also exchanged views on the importance of continuing efforts to further develop partnership relations at both multilateral and bilateral levels in the fight against corruption.

International Conference on Strengthening the Integrity and Independence of Criminal Justice in the Western Balkans, Ljubljana, Slovenia

The Director of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption, Dejan Damnjanović, is participating in the high-level international conference “Strengthening the Integrity and Independence of Criminal Justice in the Western Balkans”, taking place in Ljubljana from March 10 to 11. The event is organized by the Ministry of Justice of Slovenia and the Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime (GI-TOC). The conference has gathered representatives of government institutions, anti-corruption bodies from Western Balkan countries, judicial authorities, international and regional organizations, as well as civil society, with the aim of fostering a culture of integrity in criminal justice.
