PARTICIPATION OF THE AGENCY IN THE REGIONAL EVENTS IN THE ORGANIZATION OF THE UN OFFICE FOR DRUGS AND CRIME

The Agency participated in several events in the organization of the UN Office for Drugs and Crime (UNODC) during September. Representative of the Agency participated in the Multi-Stakeholder Workshop on the United Nations Convention against Corruption and its Review Mechanism that was held in Bečići on 19th and 20th September 2023. The workshop presents a platform that gathers the representatives of the public institutions, civil society, and private sector to share experiences, best practices, and ideas for the improvement of cooperation between the Western Balkan countries.

TRAINING “FINANCIAL INVESTIGATION“

Within the Project “Facility Supporting Strengthening Rule of Law in the Republic of Serbia“ (EU for Fight Against Corruption and for Fundamental Rights), jointly financed by the EU, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and the Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC), implemented by GIZ, ADA, CPMA and OSCE Mission to Serbia, on September 14 and 15, training on fraud detection and investigation techniques for representatives of the Agency for Prevention of Corruption was held. This training was the first out of five trainings that will be organized by the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA).

Within the Project “Preventing Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing“, implemented by the Council of Europe and supported by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, on September 6 and 7, the training for representatives of the Agency for Prevention of Corruption and the Administration for Prevention of Money Laundering on reporting suspicious transactions and the workshop on inter-institutional cooperation between the prosecution and the Agency for Prevention of Corruption were held.

THE GLOBAL CONFERENCE ON HARNESSING DATA TO IMPROVE CORRUPTION MEASUREMENT

Representatives of the Agency for Prevention of Corruption attended the Global Conference on Harnessing Data to Improve Corruption Measurement, which was held in a hybrid format from August 31 until September 1, in Vienna. The conference was organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) in collaboration with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) with the objective of further fostering the discussion on the measurement of corruption. During the conference knowledge and experience on how to produce reliable measurements of corruption and prevent this phenomenon in our society, were exchanged.
