After Kragujevac, the second Regional Unit of the Agency outside the Belgrade headquarters was officially opened in Niš, in Milojka Lešjanina street No. 26.
Agency Director Dejan Damnjanović and Mayor of Niš Dragana Sotirovski addressed the dignitaries and guests and emphasized the importance of a better understanding of the Agency's competencies to public officials, citizens, civil society organizations and local media of the Nišava administrative district.
"The opening of the Regional Unit of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption brought us together today to make official this special moment that symbolizes togetherness, cooperation and achievement of the desired success in the prevention of corruption. We strive to connect better, to exchange ideas and experiences, and to work dedicatedly for the improvement of our society and a better future for all of us", stressed Director Damnjanović.
Mayor Sotirovski pointed out that every institutional step forward from Belgrade towards cities in other parts of Serbia represents an encouragement to citizens about equal opportunities and chances for development and advancement. There are two very important institutions in Niš - the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption and the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection, which, Sotirovski stated, remind, or warn us and are in the service of legality, publicity and strengthening of the democratic potential of society as a whole.
As part of the protocol, the Agency's delegation visited one of the most significant monuments of Serbian history, "Skull Tower", and a tree of friendship was planted in the park on Trg Kralj Aleksandar.
