The Regional Unit was opened in the building of the City Administration, in Kragujevac. This is the first official opening of one of the three regional units outside the Belgrade headquarters.
Agency Director Dejan Damnjanović and Mayor of Kragujevac Nikola Dašić addressed the dignitaries and guests and emphasized the importance of better understanding of the Agency's competences to Kragujevac public officials, citizens, civil society organizations and local media.
"With this opening, we want to achieve stronger implementation of our competences, to act in maximum preventive way, thus resulting in public officials as persons with full personal and professional integrity“ stressed Director Damnjanović.
On this occasion Mayor Dašić said: "The City of Kragujevac has always had excellent cooperation with the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption in the implementation of a series of activities and projects for the education of employees and representatives of the non-governmental sector. Today, Kragujevac is the first city in Serbia where the Regional Office is opened, and I am convinced that we will be good hosts".
After the official opening, members of the Agency Council, the City Council of Kragujevac and the Director of the Agency with his associates, visited the Memorial Park “Kragujevac October”, laid a wreath, and paid their respects to the Kragujevac victims of World War II, that are buried in Šumarice.
A tree was planted in Memorial Park as symbol of life and strong bonds between people.
