The epilogue of the recently held International Conference on the occasion of the International Anti-Corruption Day and Week, represents one of the highlights of the Agency's work this year, aimed at the youth education and establishment of the scientific-professional cooperation in the field of aspects research, perception and the fight against corruption in the Republic of Serbia. This was the opportunity for the Director of the Agency, Dejan Damnjanović, to sign the Memorandum with the President of the Conference of Universities of Serbia (KONUS), Professor Vladan Đokić Ph.D., Rector of the University of Belgrade, followed by the Memorandum of Cooperation with the Faculty of Law of the University of Novi Sad.
The signatories of the Memorandum agreed that the establishment of a long-term cooperation will contribute to the development and improvement of the work of both institutions, through strengthening of their capacities in the inclusion and coordination of universities in Serbia in activities of prevention and fight against corruption.
Director Damnjanović emphasized:
"I believe that the fight against corruption requires effective and continuous cooperation of all relevant institutions, so that in this way we achieve the goal that the employees of the Agency become familiar with the activities of coordinating the work of universities in Serbia, established common policies, the challenges of universities in Serbia in relation to emerging forms of corruption and in this regard direct the projects and activities of the Agency related to corruption to the identified problems, issues and challenges".
President of KONUS Professor Vladan Đokić Ph.D., particularly stressed the social importance of KONUS in coordinating the work of accredited, state, and private universities in Serbia.
"I find that it is extremely important that through understanding challenges of preventing and fighting corruption and solving them, with an emphasis on the practice of the Agency, we further improve the potential of mutual cooperation, timely information and consultation in matters of importance for the prevention and fight against corruption in the area of higher education", said Professor Đokić. Ph.D.
The specific forms of cooperation agreed upon by the signatories of the Memorandum are: the exchange of information and experiences in matters related to science and practice in the field of prevention and fight against corruption, that will be implemented within projects of mutual interest; targeted participation of the Agency's employees at the meetings of the Rector's Council of KONUS, working groups and other bodies that the Rector's Council may establish, as well as organizing and participating in joint expert meetings dedicated to current topics in the field of corruption prevention, joint work on scientific and research projects, as well as the publication of scientific and professional works and practices of the Agency in joint publications, publications of the Agency or KONUS and other publications.
