SIGNED MEMORANDUM ON COOPERATION BETWEEN THE AGENCY FOR PREVENTION OF CORRUPTION AND THE ANTI-CORRUPTION СOUNCIL

Bearing in mind that the fight against corruption requires effective and continuous cooperation of all relevant institutions, the Director of the Agency for Prevention of Corruption Mr. Dejan Damnjanović and the President of the Anti-Corruption Council Prof. Dr Miroslav Milićević, signed the new Memorandum on Cooperation, today.

During the meeting held in June this year, which preceded today's signing of the memorandum, it was discussed about the improvement of the modalities and method of cooperation, in line with the Council of Europe Group of States against Corruption (GRECO) recommendation from the Fifth Evaluation Round for the Republic of Serbia. The consent was achieved on the necessity to conclude a Memorandum on Cooperation in the part pertaining to preventing corruption and promoting integrity in central governments, that was signed today.

The Memorandum is focused on building a system of continuous cooperation through the establishment of a proactive approach to the prevention of corruption in the areas especially prone to corruption, as prescribed by the strategic documents of the Republic of Serbia, for more efficient implementation and control of the implementation of the regulations in these areas in accordance with the highest international standards and regulations.
