PARTICIPATION OF THE AGENCY IN THE REGIONAL EVENTS IN THE ORGANIZATION OF THE UN OFFICE FOR DRUGS AND CRIME

The Agency participated in several events in the organization of the UN Office for Drugs and Crime (UNODC) during September.

Representative of the Agency participated in the Multi-Stakeholder Workshop on the United Nations Convention against Corruption and its Review Mechanism that was held in Bečići on 19th and 20th September 2023. The workshop presents a platform that gathers the representatives of the public institutions, civil society, and private sector to share experiences, best practices, and ideas for the improvement of cooperation between the Western Balkan countries.

Likewise, a representative of the Agency participated in the round table within the Project “Promoting Anti-Corruption Youth Education” implemented by UNODC, on 22nd September 2023 in Bečići. On this occasion, experiences and activities were exchanged with colleagues from the region, and the importance of the anti-corruption education of youth aimed to raise awareness of the importance of the prevention of corruption and strengthening the integrity in the youth population was emphasized.

Finally, within the Project “Regional Anti-Corruption and Illicit Roadmap“ for the western Balkan jurisdictions, on the 26th and 27th  of September in Budva,  representatives of the Agency and the Office for  Public Procurement participated in the regional event in the organization of the UN Office for Drugs and Crime, as the Secretariat of the Regional Anti-Corruption and Illicit Finance Roadmap for the Western Balkan jurisdictions together with the Regional Anti-Corruption Initiative. Participants from the region presented the status of implementation of the Roadmap goals in the area of public procurement, asset declaration, and conflict of interest, with a focus on the actions that were undertaken in the last year as well as the plans for next period.
