Director Dejan Damnjanović and Minister Husein Memić signed a Cooperation Agreement between the Agency for Prevention of Corruption and the Ministry of Tourism and Youth of the Republic of Serbia, with the aim of establishing long-term cooperation that will contribute to the development and enhancement of joint efforts of both institutions in the fight against corruption.
The forms of cooperation include numerous joint activities of the Agency and the Ministry, including: the exchange of information and experiences and the organization of joint projects related to anti-corruption efforts; the involvement of youth in such projects and their empowerment as active partners in building anti-corruption awareness; as well as the organization of practical trainings by the Agency in youth offices aimed at recognizing corruption, strengthening prevention, ethics, and integrity among young people, and the development of an anti-corruption guide for youth focused on raising their awareness.
On this occasion, Director Damnjanović stated that, through cooperation agreements with ministries and other state institutions, the Agency enhances inter-institutional coordination and establishes a unified platform of all state bodies in the fight against corruption through its preventive actions and educational activities.
“The Agency will ensure the conditions for conducting trainings on ‘Ethics and Integrity,’ which will be specifically designed for employees and public officials in the tourism and youth system, as well as provide trainings on the Agency’s competences for managers and staff within the Ministry,” Damnjanović emphasized.
Minister Memić highlighted that the Cooperation Agreement with the Agency is of great importance for the implementation of anti-corruption policies and measures aimed at strengthening preventive mechanisms against corrupt practices and behavior, as well as for raising awareness among Ministry employees about the necessity of applying anti-corruption measures in their work.
“The goal of the Ministry is to further improve its contribution to the fight against corruption and strengthen its own preventive anti-corruption mechanisms by familiarizing employees with the challenges of preventing corruption and ways to address them, relying on the Agency’s experience in this field,” Minister Memić stated.
In accordance with the Agreement, a working group will be established with the task of developing program activities on topics related to the prevention of corruption. It is also planned to organize debates with representatives of school parliaments on various aspects of corruption, which will be implemented with the support of youth offices.
