TRAINING HELD FOR MINISTERS IN THE GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA: “INTEGRITY STANDARDS OF PUBLIC OFFICIALS THROUGH THE LEGAL AND INSTITUTIONAL FRAMEWORK FOR PREVENTING CORRUPTION”

The Agency, in cooperation with the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia and the General Secretariat of the Government, implemented another in a series of trainings entitled “Integrity Standards of Public Officials through the Legal and Institutional Framework for Preventing Corruption”, thereby completing the training cycle for ministers.

By conducting this training, the Agency fully implemented activities within its competence related to fulfilling the recommendations of the 5th evaluation round of the Group of States against Corruption (GRECO), which envisaged strengthening knowledge and awareness of integrity standards among holders of the highest public offices within the executive branch.

The training covered topics related to the implementation of the Law on the Prevention of Corruption and the Law on Lobbying. In particular, the presentations addressed the obligations of public officials in the areas of ethics and integrity; the prevention of conflicts of interest (including incompatibility and accumulation of public offices, as well as the performance of other work or activities); the declaration of assets and income; reporting on the assumption and termination of public office; the submission of gift records; lobbying; and the assessment of corruption risks in regulations.

The training for holders of the highest public offices represents a significant step toward improving the preventive anti-corruption framework of the Republic of Serbia and confirms the commitment of institutions to strengthening integrity, accountability, and transparency in the performance of the highest public offices, in accordance with international standards and obligations.
