103RD PLENARY MEETING OF THE GROUP OF STATES AGAINST CORRUPTION OF THE COUNCIL OF EUROPE

The Director of the Agency, Dejan Damnjanović, who also serves as the Head of the Delegation of the Republic of Serbia, and Bojana Smartek, Acting Assistant Director in the Sector for Integrity and Anti-Corruption Education, participated in the 103rd plenary meeting of the Group of States against Corruption of the Council of Europe (GRECO), held in Strasbourg from June 8 to June 12, 2026.

The meeting discussed and adopted the Second Compliance Report of the Republic of Serbia within the Fifth Round of GRECO Evaluation, which relates to the prevention of corruption and the promotion of integrity in central government bodies (persons with top executive functions) and law enforcement bodies. In addition to our report, reports for Armenia, Georgia, Ireland, Italy and Montenegro were discussed and adopted.

At the session dedicated to the consideration of our report, the Head of the Delegation presented the activities undertaken by the Republic of Serbia in order to implement the recommendations and emphasized that there is a readiness of all relevant institutions, the Presidency and the Government of the Republic of Serbia, as well as the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Agency for Prevention of Corruption to take measures to implement the recommendations, which will be a priority in the coming period. He also informed that on June 4, 2026, the Government of the Republic of Serbia adopted a new Action Plan for the period from 2026 to 2028 for the implementation of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy for the period from 2024 to 2028.

The Republic of Serbia is scheduled to submit its next report in June 2027.

During the meeting, the reports of the Sixth GRECO Evaluation Round for Luxembourg, Slovenia and the United Kingdom, which focuses on preventing corruption and promoting integrity at the local level, were also discussed. The agenda also included reports on monitoring compliance with the recommendations on preventing corruption among parliamentarians, judges and prosecutors for Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Poland, as part of the Fourth GRECO Evaluation Round.
