In line with one of the conclusions of the International Conference held two days earlier, which referred to strengthening regional cooperation among related institutions, the Agency today hosted representatives of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption in Montenegro.
During the two-day study visit, representatives of the Montenegrin Agency from the Secretariat, the Department for the Implementation of Campaigns, Education and Research, as well as the Department for the Prevention of Conflicts of Interest of Public Officials, became acquainted with the organizational models of our Agency and examples of good practice. Employees of the Secretariat, the Sector for Integrity and Anti-Corruption Education, and the Sector for Resolving Conflicts of Interest presented their many years of experience and results, with special emphasis on the development and implementation of anti-corruption education, mechanisms for preventing conflicts of interest and the accumulation of functions, procedures for transferring managerial rights, awareness-raising campaigns, as well as PR activities and cooperation with the media.
The Director of the Agency, Dejan Damnjanović, welcomed the guests and on this occasion stated: “Cooperation with related institutions in the region is extremely important for us, especially with the Agency of Montenegro, with which we have a long-standing partnership and almost identical competences. We are open to all types of exchange of experience, especially cross-sectoral cooperation, and we want to further intensify our relations. We continue to provide active support to institutions in the region in improving integrity, accountability, and transparency in our work, in the belief that direct cooperation is the most reliable way to strengthen anti-corruption mechanisms in the region and beyond.”
In a constructive and friendly atmosphere, representatives of both institutions agreed that there is significant potential for further deepening cooperation, particularly in the fields of education, methodology development, and the improvement of practices in line with European standards.
