COOPERATION BETWEEN THE AGENCY FOR THE PREVENTION OF CORRUPTION AND THE FORENSIC AND POLICE UNIVERSITY

The Director of the Agency, Dejan Damnjanović, received the Rector of the Forensic and Police University, Zoran Đurđević, PhD, on a working visit, during which they discussed activities that could contribute to the further development and improvement of the long-standing successful cooperation between the two institutions.

Over the past years, the partnership has been strengthened through the exchange of professional information and experience in the field of corruption prevention, the participation of Agency employees in teaching activities at the University, the engagement of university teachers and associates in Agency training, as well as through support for undergraduate and master's students in the form of professional practice and mentoring.

In light of further developing this cooperation, Director Damnjanović presented an initiative that will be one of the Agency's priorities in the coming year:

"The Agency is very serious and committed to educating young people about mechanisms for preventing corruption. After publishing the Manual for educators in primary and secondary schools, which aims to empower students to recognize and prevent corruption, one of our most important tasks in the coming year will be the preparation and publication of a Manual intended for the teaching staff of the Forensic and Police University and other universities that express a desire to implement it in their teaching process."

Rector Đurđević welcomed the proposal and emphasized that the University continuously strives to further strengthen its scientific and teaching capacities by connecting theory and practice, as well as through in-depth familiarization of students with the challenges and mechanisms of combating corruption. "We support the Agency, which we consider an important factor in the prevention and fight against corruption," Đurđević emphasized.

The interlocutors agreed to organize consultations between their expert teams, which will define the necessary details of the planned activities. These activities will be included in the next Memorandum of Cooperation between the Agency and the University, whose conclusion is planned as soon as possible.
