With the support of the General Secretariat of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the Agency organized its first training titled “Integrity Standards of Public Officials through the Legal and Institutional Framework for Preventing Corruption” for newly elected ministers on May 27.
This training aligns with the recommendation from the Evaluation Report of the Group of States against Corruption (GRECO), which calls for the implementation of integrity training for individuals holding the highest executive positions upon taking office. Through this initiative, the Agency has provided essential education to members of the Government.
The training covered key topics related to the implementation of the Law on the Prevention of Corruption and the Law on Lobbying. Presentations addressed the obligations of public officials in areas such as ethics and integrity, prevention of conflicts of interest (including incompatibility and accumulation of public functions, and engaging in other work or activities), asset and income declarations, notifications of assuming and terminating public office, submission of gift registers, lobbying regulations, and the assessment of corruption risks in legislation.
In doing so, the Agency fulfills its preventive role and strengthens cooperation with state bodies and public officials—its primary stakeholders in monitoring and enforcing anti-corruption laws. The training also contributes to the implementation of GRECO recommendations, reinforcing the Republic of Serbia’s commitment to international anti-corruption standards.
In the coming period, the Agency will continue organizing similar training sessions for ministers, as well as for other high-ranking executive officials, including state secretaries, assistant ministers, and others.
