Sastanak direktora Agencije sa britanskim ambasadorom

Direktor Agencije za borbu protiv korupcije Dragan Sikimić sastao se sa ambasadorom Velike Britanije Denisom Kifom i drugim sekretarom za politička, ekonomska i trgovinska pitanja u Ambasadi Velike Britanije Dominikom Nilom.

Kako je naglasio ambasador Kif, Velika Britanija posvećena je pružanju podrške Republici Srbiji u unapređenju vladavine prava i borbe protiv korupcije, u skladu sa pregovaračkim poglavljem 23, kao i jačanju saradnje sa britanskim institucijama u ovoj oblasti. Ukazao je i na predstojeći Samit zemalja Zapadnog Balkana, koji će u okviru britanskog predsedavanja Berlinskim procesom, biti održan 9. i 10. jula u Londonu i obuhvatiće, između ostalog, oblasti prevencije i borbe protiv korupcije, transparentnosti, javnih nabavki, sukoba interesa i zaštite uzbunjivača.

Direktor Sikimić zahvalio se na podršci Velike Britanije u procesu sprovođenja reformi u Republici Srbiji, kao i evropskih integracija. Istakao je značaj saradnje svih relevantnih institucija na nacionalnom i međunarodnom nivou. Londonski samit je, kako je dodao, još jedna od mogućnosti jačanja borbe protiv korupcije, koja je neodvojiva od ekonomskog razvoja zemlje i unapređenja povoljnog poslovnog okruženja.

Na sastanku je zaključeno i da će Velika Britanija nastaviti da pruža podršku Agenciji kroz instrumente tehničke pomoći, razvijanje profesionalnih mreža kao i unapređenje postojećih oblika saradnje.

Director of the Anti-Corruption Agency met with the UK Ambassador

Director of the Anti-Corruption Agency Dragan Sikimić met with the UK Ambassador Denis Keefe and the Second Secretary for Political, Economic and Trade Issues in the UK Embassy Dominic Neil.

As pointed out by the Ambassador Keefe, the UK has been committed to supporting the Republic of Serbia in improving rule of law and fight against corruption, in line with the negotiation chapter 23 as well as strengthening cooperation with the UK institutions in this area. He also indicated the forthcoming Western Balkans Summit which will be held on July 9-10, 2018 in London in the framework of the UK Chairing of the Berlin Process thus encompassing prevention and fight against corruption, transparency, public procurement, conflict of interest and whistle-blowers’ protection.

Director Sikimić expressed his gratitude for the support provided by the UK in the reform process of the Republic of Serbia as well as European Integration. He stressed the significance of cooperation of all relevant institutions at both national and international level. He added that the London Summit would provide an additional opportunity of strengthening fight against corruption, as an indispensable part of economic development of the country as well as improvement of its favourable business environment.

One of the conclusion of the meeting also pertains to continuation of the UK support to the Agency through technical assistance instruments, development of professional networks and improvement of the existing cooperation modalities.
